Laval - Jour overture

  • Cremazie wall
On April 28 2007, STM opened the long-awaited extension of the Orange Line from Henri Bourassa to Montmorency with three new stations, all in Laval. As much of a transportation geek as I am, I had never been on the opening day of a new train line. These are my photos from a trip that day, while carrying the 6 month old Giraffe in his backpack.

How are Ikea's prices versus Ikea in the USA?

Urban Wanderer

Ikea wins a fairness award (by local standards) for charging an average 18-20% face value premium, which translates to 6-8% above US prices. So, we are still getting good value. The rip-off award goes to publishers who are still using 45%+ face value premiums in Canada. Needless to say, buying from amazon.com and paying for transborder shipping tends to be as cheap as amazon.ca and much cheaper than Canadian bookstores.
